NMLA Season Suspended

  March 27, 2020

Dear New Mexico Lacrosse Association Members:

As you may have heard by now, the New Mexico Public Education Department just announced that all New Mexico schools are closed through this academic year.

It follows that the earliest we might be able to resume activities would likely be the end of May.

For this year, the traditional spring season as we know it will not happen. However, the NMLA board is working on contingencies for possible late May/early June and summer  games and tournaments. We encourage you to stay in touch with your players (kids need outlets for their energy so why not host virtual training sessions and stick skills games, etc) and let them know we will have some sort of lacrosse competitions as soon as the all-clear is issued by State authorities. We are committed to having lacrosse as soon as reasonably possible!

Program leaders will be receiving a revised invoice for league dues and fees. The only officials fees due are for any games ALREADY PLAYED. Once we have an idea of what the summer schedule might look like we will address billing for officials at that time. Please, if you have not already done so, make sure your league dues are paid as the league still has operating expenses even with no games being played.

Thank you all for all you do for lacrosse in our region. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Take care and be safe.
